Remember Michael Lodespoto? He's the man who collapsed and fell off the Atlantic Avenue platform onto the train tracks back in August.
The train's headlights were in sight. Yet, four brave men jumped down onto those treacherous tracks to lift Michael to safety and save his life.
Now, Lodespoto has nominated three of his saviors for a New York Post Liberty Medal of Courage, reports the Post. The fourth man remains unidentified.
The three heroic nominees are: Retired NYPD Officer Brenden Crowe, 50; Jay Schneider, 43; and James Dolan, 53. Michael calls them "my angels."
Shortly after the accident, Lodespoto told WABC, "I think I've been given a second chance in some ways... I would love to see each one face to face and give them a hug. I don't have much to offer except 'thank you.'" And he found a special way to thank them with his nomination.
Now, that's New York!
Have good days, Downtown B.; till next time.

From the skyscrapers of NYC, I face strength. From the people of NYC, I gain understanding. And from the heart of NYC, I feel inspiration. So, I tend to write about the city quite a bit. View profile
