Non Alcoholic New Years Celebration

Celebrating with Family Sober

Brandy Martinez
I know that some people enjoy a night out of drinking with friends and family on New years eve. However New Years eve is special in our home in the sense that is our daughter kayla's Birthday. So we have decided to celebrate every New Years eve with our children.

Traditionally we rent a marvel comic movie/movies ( which was easier in previous years),Marvel has not made to many new movies lately so now we just pic an epic. Sometimes we have friends and other family members join us and sometimes it is just the 7 of us

We make a nice spread of cheeses, crackers/flat breads, ring bologna, chips, pretzels and other snack foods on a beautifully decorated table. Perfectly lit with candles.
Then we get out the fancy champagne or wine glasses for the consumption of the many bottles of sparkling grape juice. Continually filling glass after glass.
Then there are the many favorites in board games like, Scene It and Trivia,The DDR matches, and Tekken tournaments.

We fill the play list with our favorite music and we dance around and serenade one another. We make sure to take many pictures and video to capture as much silliness as possible for future laughs.WE compete in the games we have chosen till our kids are tired of us.lol Usually this goes on till about 11:30 and then it is the anxious wait for the ball to drop. We pass out the noise makers and horns. Every one enjoys irritating each other with the noises of those spinning things. We were funny hats and beaded necklaces.

For us there is no better way to spend the end of a year or the beginning of a New Year than with each other, laughing, joking and instigating each other in game play. The more the merrier and every year we have a blast.

I beleive, we are called to be seekers of the truth. God is relational and he created us to live in fellowship and freedom. I hope that what I write will encourage you to live today like there is no tomorrow...  View profile
