Non Chemical Pest Control

There are many kinds of ways for people to eliminate there pest problems. They can use both chemical and non chemical pest control. Chemical pest control can and has damaged the environment and the organisms that live in it. Therefore, it is beneficial to seek out non chemical pest control methods to eliminate insects. Some examples of the non chemical pest control methods are high frequency sound waves,

One of the methods that has been invented to control pests that uses high frequency sound waves instead of chemicals (Sunbeam Pest Control, 2007). It uses sound waves that people cannot hear but the insects and even rodents can hear. It doesn't harm pets or humans and it also does not harm the environment. This method is effective since "the heightened sensitivity these creatures have to sound" (Sunbeam Pest Control, 2007). It is capable of repelling "ants, mice, spiders..." mosquitoes, and so much more (Sunbeam Pest Control, 2007).

Bug zappers are another type of technology that could be used as a type of non chemical pest control method. It is something that is put outdoors and plugged into the wall which then lights up the beam. Most of these bug zappers have a screen that is used to try and protect people from electrocuting themselves. Inside the bug zappers there is a light that attracts the flying insects and when they get close enough they get zapped with an electrical shock. This method is not harmful to the environment because there are no chemicals. This method kills only the flying insects like flies, moths, mosquitoes, and anything that can fly too close to the light.

Flyswatters are another form of non chemicals pest control. It has been around the longest and actually can be used to kill most of the annoying pests. The flyswatter is essentially a plastic stick with a thin and flat end. When a fly, moth, spider, or any other kind of pest comes along a person grabs the thick stick and then swat the pest with the thin flat end. Although the flyswatter is a very effective way of controlling visible pests it does not control those that lurk around while the person is not around. References

I found a product called the Pest offense that is chemical/pesticide free and has worked great for getting rid of roaches and mice in my home. It cost me about $30 from walmart.com and it has worked for over a year now!
