Non-Alcoholic Beverages Equals a Happy New Year's Eve

It's time for celebration and reflection. Yes, New Year's Eve is right around the corner and that means Times Square, a big crystal ball, food and drink. Drinking and eating has always been a part of a New Year's Eve celebration. However, partygoers must drink responsibly; therefore it might be prudent to drink something other than champange. Yes, I know that champagne is the drink of New Year's Eve, but there are delicious champagne alternatives for New Year's Eve. These driunks involve ice cream, sherbert, ginger ale, and punch. Here are 5 yummy champagne alternative drinks for New Year's Eve.

1. Water and Lemon Juice: This drink is made by filling an glass with ice water and capful of lemon juice. This a refreshing champagne alternative.

2. Root Beer Float: I drink root beer floats every New Year's Eve. I use the biggest glass that I can find and fill it with three big scoops of French vanilla ice cream then, I pour in the root beer. Ice cream and root beer are a great champagne alternative.

3. Non-alcholic Shirley Temple: I still like to drink Shirly Temple's on New Year's Eve because they are fruity and refreshing. They are made with ginger ale, fruit punch and an orange. In a large bowl, pour ginger ale and fruit punch in equal parts. Then, slice an orange and float on top of the punch. Serve well chilled.

4. "Punch Bowl Punch.": This champange alternative is made using Hawaiian punch, pineapple juice, ginger ale, and lemon slices. The Hawaiian punch should chill for 20 minutes and then, poour it in a punch bowl that holds two gallons. Add pinapple juice and ginger ale. Then, add ice and add lemon slices on top of punch.

5.Hot Chocolate: Hot chocolate and New Year's Eve are the perfect combination. I like it with marshmallows. Happy New Year, everyone. www.cooks.com
