There are many Sparkling Juices and Ciders that make great alternatives for champagne, and you can pick them up at your local market. Martinelli's makes a non-alcoholic version of their founder's original Champagne Cider. Their Sparkling Cider comes in a 25.4 fl. oz. bottle with added vitamin C. This carbonated cider is made with 100% juice from apples and does not contain any added sweeteners or preservatives. Martinelli's also offers other flavors, including, apple-cherry, apple-cranberry, apple-grape, apple-mango, apple-peach, apple-pear and others. You can find Martinelli's at many grocery stores and online on their website. Welch's, Meier's, Alpenglow, Izze, and Kedem also offer many kinds of sparkling juices.
Sodas and Seltzers, such as Sprite, 7up, and Ginger Ale also make great champagne alternatives. They also make good bases to some popular non alcoholic drinks. The Shirley Temple is made with 2 parts ginger ale or 7up, one part orange juice and a few drops of grenadine. Add a cherry and you have a wonderful drink for kids and other non alcohol drinking guests.
If you want to make something that resembles and bubbles just like the real Champagne, try mixing a 2-liter bottle of ginger ale and 1 48-ounce bottle or can of white grape juice. Your guests will not miss the real thing.
Allrecipes.com has a great recipe for Mock Champagne that will impress all your guests. All you need are 2 2-liter bottles of ginger ale, 1 46-ounce can of pineapple juice and 1 64-ounce bottle of white grape juice. According to the recipe this drink looks particularly nice when served with an ice ring that can be filled with edible flowers or pieces of fruit.
You can also find a great Pineapple-Orange Punch that is perfect for kids (and adults too). Just combine 1 ½ pints vanilla ice cream, 1 pint orange sherbet, 7 cups pineapple juice and 3 cups ginger ale.
With all these great options available, everyone can enjoy the holiday season and special occasions.
