Non-Alcoholic Cinco De Mayo Drinks

When many people think of Cinco de Mayo, they think of drunken partying and reveling in the streets to celebrate . But, for many people; drinking is not a desirable option for a celebration. Some people have had problems with alcohol in the past and don't want to drink again. Others choose to celebrate Cinco De Mayo with their children and don't want to drink around their kids. Others choose not to drink for religious or personal reasons. But, just because you aren't a drinker doesn't mean that you have to have boring drinks for Cinco De Mayo. There are many flavorful options for you to choose from; and fun beverages that your family will enjoy.

Sparkling Cider is a favorite in my family. Every year whether alcohol is served or not; Sparkling Cider is there. Not only is it absolutely delicious; but you can find it almost everywhere. You can buy it from CVS, Giant or Safeway. It comes in a fancy presentation all year round. It looks like a bottle of champagne with pretty foil around the neck and a fancy cork-like top; but it is completely non-alcoholic and safe for kids to drink. Kids love this drink also because they feel like their drinking something special. It was a favorite of ours growing up.

Another option for creating fun drinks at home without alcohol is getting a carbonator and carbonating unexpected juices like, papaya and mango. Goya offers a variety of unique juices that would lend well to carbonation. Everyone will wonder what your secret is since they've never tasted anything like these drinks before. They are a very fun idea for a holiday party.

Another way to get great juices to do interesting things with like carbonation; is to use a juicer like the Jack Lalane Power Juicer. I've found this to be the easiest juicer to use since for most fruit and vegetables there is no pre-preparation. You simply drop the food into the juicer; whole and un-chopped if it will fit, and juice comes out. Carbonating carrot juice, apple juice, grape juice, etc. are an unexpected twist. These juices are unfamiliar to many people in their absolutely natural form; so carbonating them will have them wanting your recipe.

A special presentation for non-alcoholic beverages is to serve them with fresh fruit. For example serve gingerale with a mixer of V8 Splash in your favorite flavor. Add a bunch of chopped strawberries to your serving bowl. This is a great presentation! Enjoy your drinks and have a Happy Cinco de Mayo!
