None of the Above

A Comment on the Coming Election

I don't know about all of you, but I am sick of all the bickering, mudslinging and fighting among these politicians. Lets take a look at the situation:

Did the Republicans really give you a choice? Were there any candidates running that were really worth voting for? They made sure there were so many running that even with all the choices it had to be a split race. I had one candidate I liked, but there was not anyway he was going to make the cut. He didn't have the backing of the Republican party and he didn't have the funds to fight the big dogs. In my humble opinion it was a matter of the least of those qualified, that got the nomination, because there really wasn't much competition to begin with as long as you had the money to fight your opponent.

The Democratic party was not much better. They made up their minds early in the race who was going to be supported and who was not. Once they eliminated John Edwards it was between two people on opposite sides of the stream. Now what we have is a cat and dog fight that is getting old and tiresome. In the end, will either of them win. Let's face it, there is not anyone running that really is qualified to be President, but we are going to get stuck with one of them.

What we need is someone who is an adult, who can handle the affairs of the American people and get us out of this miserable hole we are all in. Food prices have sky rocketed along with gasoline and the economic situation of our country is in dire straights. No matter what this administration states, we are not only in a recession but closing in on a depression. The war we should never have entered into in the first place is killing all of us as well as our military. The dollar is losing more of its power by the moment and we are selling our country to the highest bidder.

What I want to know is where are all those countries we helped when they needed it. I don't see any of them offering to GIVE us anything, but loans at high interest., no less. After World War II we bailed out Germany, Japan and a lot of other folks to get them back on their feet. Why aren't those people paying us back for all we did to help them? We need a president that will make it clear, the free ride is over for all these people and now we need to take care of our own.

I sincerely think if they put "None of the Above" on the ballot this year, it would get the most votes. Maybe then we could get some people who were qualified to run our government and look after the interest of all the American people, not just blacks or whites, women and men, race car enthusiast, the NRA, immigrants and natural citizens, but all of us.

I say we need to petition the Supreme court to give us that choice that we will never be in this spot again. Write you congress people and ask them to put "None of the Above " on the ballet and if they are not to chicken to do it, just maybe we can still save what is left of our country and our reputation.

I have written a poem below that says it all:

None Of The Above

Election time is almost here; We hear the politician's words.
Why do they seem so shallow? With all their empty and great blurbs.

I wish there were a real choice. They all sound so much alike
Why is they keep shouting at us and yet they continue to fight.

Now if we really could choose someone we thought was right
Wouldn't it be nice to choose or pick "None of the above." That's what I'd write.

"None of the Above", sums it up a choice that is oh so very slim
When we are truly hoping "None of the above" should really win.

Why don't they put that option as a choice we might like to choose
Anyway, you look at it right now the American people are bound to lose.

There are no honest politicians but I feel this very strong
If given THIS option on the ballet there's no way we could go wrong.

I couldn't agree more. I had to stop watching all the election stuff because it became too tabloid for me. I cannot wait until this 3-year campaign is over! Great, great article!

I totally agree with you, and unfortunately, we are in such a mess, I don't know who can take us out of it. It's ashame this had to happen to such a wonderful country.

I would definitely vote for "none of the above". I'm not thrilled with the choices, and the economy is the worst I've seen in my lifetime. You did a great job on this, and I agree!

We are thinking a bit alike. I was thinking the other day, what if we had the power to do a write in for president. wouldn't that be an explosive thing. Of course then there's be a another rich idiot buying people off to write them in. Blech.
