Glass bottles are coming back. There are many top bottle companies who brought glass back into the line.
For my son, I used the Born Free bottle system with the glass bottles. They can be expensive but they worked out rather well. You can purchase these from http://www.newbornfree.com/Default.aspx. I loved this system because the bottles turn into training cups and then go into sippy cups. The other thing I love with this system is that the bottles are wide mouth and so easy to clean.
My friend swears by Dr. Brown and was please to know that they also can out with a glass bottle system that used the same Dr. Brown technology to reduce colic and spitting up- something that is very common in newborn babies. She purchased hers directly from the amazon.com:http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Browns-Natural-Bottle-2-Pack/dp/B000YAUB0U Her son had a lot of colic and these were truly the better bottle for her baby. Be sure to clean that inner tube very well or your baby could get sick.
Mini Weego is also another company that many people do not know about that makes glass baby bottles. They are a bit more affordable and a simplistic system. You can purchase these at: http://www.babyearth.com/babylife-mini-weego-glass-bottle-4oz.html
For a brand that is not so well known, these bottles are pretty good. My co-worker told me about them when I was pregnant with my son and she had used these for her daughter and just loved them. The best part is they look really fun with the bright colored sleeve. Her daughter loved to hold the bottle due to the rubbery texture so feeding time was a real treat as the baby got older!
Surprisingly Evenflo also makes a glass bottle system that I found to be very affordable. You can purchase from many places but http://www.babyearth.com/evenflo-classic-clear-glass-nursers-3pk-8oz-silicone.html is where I found them to be most affordable.
I was very quick to transition my son to a sippy top and FOOGO makes a great stainless steel sippy cup! You can purchase at Wal-Mart. Sometimes they don't carry it in store but you can have the store order and pick up from the store so you do not have to pay for shipping.
Do you homework and find the best bottle for your baby!
