Non-Sexual Bachelor & Bachelorette Parties: Leaving Strip Clubs & Strippers Behind

Hannah
I think it's about time we all grew up. or is that grew out of the traditional bachelor or now bachelorette parties that include either strippers, or strip clubs. Have we learned nothing? The sad truth is that we pretend we have become so evolved over the past fifty years, but in a sense we have actually gotten worse. Let's take a look at where we have come from, and where we have ended up, and why it;s time to leave those sexy parties behind us!

I'm not a historian so when it all began is unknown to me. However, I can relate to how things were when I was growing up in the 50's and 60's, and what's going on now. Back in the old days, traditional bachelor parties consisted of a night out with a boys, and usually a trip to the strip club, which was basically an exotic dancer scantily clad with pasties. If a strip club wasn't the entertainment for the evening, a bunch of man would get together and watch what they called stag films. That's porn for the younger set. Yes, this was how it was for most future husbands the night before walking down the aisle at their wedding. It was considered a right of passage for any man committing himself to the institution of marriage.

It's counterpart for the woman was not called a bachelorette party, at least not in my day. It was called a wedding shower. Women would get together, give presents to the prospective bride, drink punch, eat finger sandwiches, and play some of the silliest games ever invented on the face of the earth. Most of the shower was G-Rated, with a little R thrown in when she opened her wedding night lingerie gifts. Yes, it was a completely different world for women back then, than it was for a man.

Moving on to the bachelor and bachelorette parties of today. Well, most of the ones I have heard about are down tight X-Rated, No more sweet and Innocent showers for the women. Their out there doing exactly what the men do. I'm sure that this is what equality was supposed to be about. Men's bachelor parties nowadays often consist of not only strip clubs where women are totally nude, sometime prostitutes are brought in as well. Even if it's just left to the strip clubs, there are serious bodily rubdowns given to the man of the hour. A lot of clubs nowadays also have private rooms, where the groom and his lady or ladies of choice can be very much alone. Yes, no witnesses except for the women who could care less why you're there, as long as you pay them enough to keep their mouth shut. I know strip club owners, and the strippers will tell you all night long the women are not allowed to touch the man. Well, I have not only seen it for myself, I have heard many a story that proves differently.

Women who have the new version of a woman's wedding shower, now know as a bachelorette party aren't much better. At the least a lot of women bring in male strippers to their private little get togethers. Some are a little bolder and as well just like the men go to strip clubs. Most of these women can be seen stuffing money down the thong of all the dancers that are available. Often times they receive a little rub down themselves. What happens after the dancing is over is anybody's guess, just as same as the men. Yes, we've come a long way baby, unfortunately we're going in the wrong direction. Yes, we've from walking on the the moon, back to the caves!

So, what does this all mean? It means we really aren't moving forward, we really don't respect women more than we use to, and that we all are pretending that the battle of the sexes is over. Sure women are now Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Astronauts, Judges, Architects, and everything else you could imagine. But the sad truth is we are still used as sex objects on a larger scale than ever. To top all that off, we have become like our counterparts. We are doing the same things to them we have always complained they have done to us. That's a kind of progress and equality we don't need. So let's look at some bachelor and bachelorette party ideas, that just might help to turn things around!

Now on to what type of bachelor and bachelorette parties you can have that are non-sexually based, and show respect for your future spouse, your relationship and future marriage-

A great suggestion for bachelor parties would be to have an event at your favorite sports park. A lot of man like sports and it's a great idea for a fun night out, that doesn't involve strippers. This could be double header at a baseball game, your two favorite football teams battling it out, or whatever game you like that would be available at the time of year you are getting married. Load up on all the hot dogs and beer you want, as long as you have a designated driver!

A buffet dinner at your favorite sports bar. There's usually games on TV, along with pool tables, and sometimes video games. Yes, you can have fun without the strippers. And if you can't you may have a problem!

A dinner get together at your favorite restaurant, with possibly a concert afterward with your favorite group or singer. Make sure your buddies pay, after all the party's for you!

A card party. There are men that love to play cards, and just get together and shoot the bull. If this is what you like go for it, maybe they'll even let the groom win!

Some suggestions for a tame bachelorette party-

A lot of women like to shop. So, take out the bride to be for a great lunch and a shopping spree, Your fellow females can pool their money and help you shop till you drop

How about a weekend away to just hang out with the girls. Talking, chic flicks, and having a little fun never hurt anyone. This could also help you to de-stress for your wedding day. This is a good suggestion for the guys as well, maybe minus the chick flicks. Just make sure your buddies know that it's going to be G-Rated weekend.

Go ahead have that traditional corny wedding shower, Yes, they may seem tame nowadays, but quite honestly they were a lot of fun.

Have a theme party. These have become quite popular. Everything from an Hawaiian luau to people dressed up as their favorite celebrity. These can be a lot of fun. Go against the grain, and invite the guys too, who says you have to have separate parties!

These are just a few suggestions for non-sexually based bachelor and bachelorette parties. They can be just as fun as going to strip clubs, or having strippers at your party. We have forgotten, getting married is a joyous celebration and the commitment of two people who love another, and should never be tainted by that which is no longer appropriate. We have made so much progress in so many ways, isn't it time we started making just as much progress in our relationship with the one we love?

I like your ideas. I don't plan on having a typical modern day bachelor party. I think its dumb and just leads to regret.
