Noodler's Legal Lapis is My Favorite Fountain Pen Ink

A Permanent Blue-Gray Fountain Pen Ink

Zachary Fruhling
Finding your favorite fountain pen ink is a combination of experience, trial and error, and luck. After experimenting with various fountain pen inks, I have found that my favorite fountain pen ink is the Noodler's Legal Lapis permanent fountain pen ink.

Many fountain pen inks are water soluble, which means that they are not permanent inks. As such, they are impractical for use on legal documents or for signing checks. Noodler's Legal Lapis is a permanent blue-gray fountain pen ink, which makes it perfect for use in signing official documents or anything that requires a more permanent signature than an ordinary fountain pen ink can produce.

Noodler's Ink makes fountain pen ink in a variety of interesting colors. But only black and the Legal Lapis are permanent inks that are suitable for signing legal documents with a fountain pen. The blue-gray color of the Legal Lapis fountain pen ink is a traditional and elegant color that will help to distinguish a signature from your fountain pen from the signature from another pen. And the blue-gray Legal Lapis color is distinguished yet conservative in appearance, which means that you can use an interesting fountain pen ink without having to worry about being perceived as too liberal in your tastes.

An important part of choosing a fountain pen ink is how well the ink flows from your pen's ink reservoir to your fountain pen's nib. Despite the fact that Noodler's Legal Lapis is a permanent fountain pen ink, the ink flows smoothly without clogging the nib of your pen. Because Noodler's Legal Lapis fountain pen ink is a permanent ink, you do run the risk of staining your pen's ink reservoir permanently. This is less problematic if you use an easily-replaceable refillable fountain pen plunger-style reservoir in your fountain pen, but you may not want to use Noodler's Legal Lapis fountain pen ink if you have an antique pen with an ink reservoir that is not replaceable. Because I mainly use a Waterman Phileas fountain pen with a replaceable plunger reservoir, this is not a concern for my fountain pen.

In conclusion, Noodler's Legal Lapis fountain pen ink is a permanent fountain pen ink, suitable for use on legal documents and for signing checks, with a conservative and elegant blue-gray color. Noodler's Legal Lapis fountain pen ink is available exclusively from Pendemonium, and it can be ordered from Pendemonium's website. I prefer to buy my Noodler's Legal Lapis fountain pen ink in small quantities to ensure that my fountain pen ink is always fresh and does not clog my fountain pen. That being said, Noodler's Legal Lapis fountain pen ink is by far my most favorite fountain pen ink, both because of its permanency and because of its conseravative yet interesting blue-gray color.
