Nordic Ware 64802 Microwave Egg Cooker Review

Jamie Cortez
For some people boiling a perfect egg can be quite a challenge. Sometimes the egg cracks or didn't come out the way you want it to be. Another annoying thing is when the egg sticks to the shell so it's very messy when you peel it. If you're one of those people who consider boiling eggs as a challenge you would be happy to know that Nordic Ware microwave egg cooker is here to help you.

So how do you use this thing anyway?

Well, first you add the eggs (up to four eggs) and then add some water. Close the top and put it in the microwave. Now, here's when it gets tricky. Since people have different microwaves with different power ratings you need to make your own experiment with the egg cooker and don't rely on someone else's time. For example, using a 700 watt microwave Joe have to set the time to seven minutes to get soft-boiled egg and ten minutes for hard eggs. But that's Joe's microwave and not yours so just spend the time to do one or two experiments to get the timing right.

Now, when the microwave beeps and you want to get the egg cooker out make sure you use a towel or pot holder. It's really hot you know. Make sure you put it under running water for one minute before peeling the eggs.

So why should you buy this one instead of an egg cooker with its own heating element? Wouldn't that be better since you don't have to use the microwave at all?

Actually an egg cooker that uses its own heating element is no good. You see, that kind of thing doesn't have anything to protect it from the humidity it created itself. Humidity is a mortal enemy for electric appliances so it's not really a good idea to get one of those.

Conclusion

The Nordic Ware microwave egg cooker is an excellent gadget to have in the kitchen. It can boil perfect eggs every time. You can get hard eggs in just ten minutes which is quicker than traditional boiling. It's also cheap (only ten bucks) so you really have no excuses not to buy it.
