North Carolina Trout Fishing Guides

Randy Inman
There is some really good trout fishing to be found in North Carolina and some good guides as well. I will list some North Carolina trout fishing guides and link to their web pages in the sources at the end of this article. North Carolina doesn't have monster trout some like western states but we do offer some nice fishing. Feel free to leave a comment below about my list of North Carolina trout fishing guides. Since trout fishing country in North Carolina is also mining country click here to read about the best North Carolina mines as well.

Brookside Guides

Brookside Guides is based out of Ashville North Carolina and offers a variety of services for the fisherman. You can sign up for classes to help you learn how to catch North Carolina trout at Brookside. You can sign up for a half day, full day or float fishing trip with these North Carolina trout fishing guides. I love the fact that Brookside has a woman's fly fishing school as well which is taught at the Lake Logan Center.

High Country Angler

High Country Angler offers licensed guides doing trout fishing trips in North Carolina as well as Tennessee. They also offer trips in the same area for smallmouth bass. High Country Angers uses a Hyde Drift Boat for their float fishing trips. They can cater to the amateur or the seasoned fly fisherman or woman. You can also purchase a gift certificate from them for a guided trip for the angler on your gift list.

Carolina Fishing Adventures

Carolina Fishing Adventures allows you to choose between wild North Carolina trout waters or hatchery supported streams. Owner and guide Doug Vercauteren has experience in trout fishing all over North America for the last 30 years. Based out of Brevard North Carolina, Carolina Fishing Adventures is well located for fine trout fishing. You can have a guided half day or full day trip for one or two anglers.

Smokey Mountains Outdoors Unlimited

Smokey Mountains Outdoor Unlimited is in the Bryson City area of North Carolina. This is also some prime white water rafting country as you can read here. Only local guides who really know North Carolina trout fishing are used from this group. Tackle and supplies are included in the cost with no hidden fees biting you in the buttocks!

Fontana Guides

I love the fact that Fontana Guides only has guides who are trained in CPR/First Aid and are AED certified. Fontana Guides is also licensed and insured. Year round full and half day trips are available as well as seasonal sight seeing trips. Not only are tips on Fontana Lake done but so are trips on trout steams in western North Carolina.
