North Face Women's Metropolis Parka Review

I had always wanted a North Face jacket and when I saw this North Face women's Metropolis Parka in shimmering black, I actually fell in love with it. Although it is priced exorbitantly high, it seems to be worth every penny I spent on it. The quality of fabric, the style, the silhouette, the fit all speak of elegance and poise, everything I would expect from a casual evening wear.

The first thing I loved about it was the way its high neck rested on my neckline. Unlike most of my high-neck garments where the neck is invariably protruding rendering them a shabby look, this one fitted wonderfully and quite smartly. The fit seems perfect at chest, waistline and hips as well. The length also suffices for a long jacket to be worn on casual bottoms and goes well with almost all my boot cut denims. However, I feel the sleeves could be shorter by almost one and a half of an inch so that a hint of my full sleeve to is visible.

Not only this, I also find it extremely comfortable to wear, thanks to the smooth interlinings it has. Apart from that, it is extremely lightweight and durable. I have been using it for quite some time now and the luster and color of the North Face women's Metropolis Parka intact.

The one major problem that I face is that it is too bulky to carry, takes up a lot of space and is very difficult to fold. After all you can not squeeze it along with your other stuff into your knapsack. In addition to that I find it very difficult to wash because of the enormous volumes it occupies after being soaked in water.

Also, I would have loved if the North Face women's Metropolis Parka could be a little warmer than it is now. Perhaps an extra layer of insulation would do. In that case it would be ideal for chilly conditions that prevail here for almost the entire year.

The color options are quite cool with most of the earthy dark colors included in the palette. However, I would not mind the same style in a lighter tone as well to complete my wardrobe. Something like pale ash color or in a light cream shade would do nice that might go well in contrast with my dark colored bottoms.Overall, this smart North Face women's Metropolis Parka more than makes up for its price with it breathable fabric, trendy cut and well fitted contours
