Norwich drew 1-1 with Birmingham City. And by doing so, proved yet again, they can live with the big boys. It was actually Norwich who was the dominant force throughout the game. At the end of the game it was Birmingham that was grateful for the point.

Norwich could have had the lead in the opening minutes of the game, but Jason Shackell's headed goal was harshly ruled out for offside. Despite the early setback it was Norwich, who created the best opportunities in the first half.

However, it was Birmingham, who opened the scoring completely against the run of play. Furthermore, it was a fortunate goal, which Cameron Jerome was the scorer of. The Birmingham striker appeared to jump into David Marshall, but it was seen as fair play. The assumption being it was a fair challenge for the ball and the Norwich goalkeeper should have been more commanding.

Therefore, Birmingham went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead. They would know that they would need to up their game if they hope to win.

Early in the second-half Norwich's pressure finally told, when Sammy Clingan scored a superb free kick. Norwich continued to create good opportunities with Alan Gow and Alan Lee both going close. However, it was Birmingham, who finished the game the stronger. And they nearly nicked it, but David Marshall made a fine save after a clever header from Kevin Phillips.
