Norwich City Show Their Class

My last article was about whether or not Norwich city was a club in crisis. This evening, that same club is celebrating a thumping 5-2 win over early pace setters' wolves. Norwich performed much the same as they have all season, but this time they took their chances. Leroy Lita was the star of the show with a marvellous hat-trick.

It's the kind of win Norwich had been threatening to dish out and they have finally done it. In a way it's ironic because in previous games Norwich has created more chances. However, as everyone knows goals change games. That being said few people would have banked on Norwich scoring five tonight. The big hope is this result will kick-start Norwich's season. Above all Norwich must backup this result with a win against Doncaster on Saturday.

The game itself was an extremely entertaining affair with a total of 7 goals in 90 minutes of football. The first goal will live long in the memory, but the wolves' goalkeeper will want to forget it. Sammy Clinghan swung the free kick in and the wolves' goalkeeper caught the ball cleanly, but then fell into the goal. A comical opening goal but it was just the boost Norwich needed. Then when Leroy Lita added a second goal the game looked safe. However, Wolves quickly pulled a goal back So at half-time the score was Norwich city 2 wolves 1.

As expected Wolves came out the stronger but it was Norwich, who scored the next goal. Leroy lita was again the scorer and Norwich had restored their two-goal lead. Yet again wolves pulled a goal back. Now there were fears wolves might equalise. Fortunately, only a few minutes later, wolves were reduced to 10 men. That Sending-off effectively ended the wolves challenge. Norwich took advantage and scored two more goals to add that bit of gloss to the victory. Hopefully Norwich can build on this result and get another convincing win over Doncaster on Saturday.
