Norwich Face Pilgrims in Relegation Match-up

James Kent
Norwich will want to avoid another false start this weekend. When City beat QPR it seemed they would hit form. Only, to lose, the very next game against Blackpool. With the Canaries beating Cardiff, it's now hoped they can follow-up with another win.

With Plymouth and Norwich so close in the table it's vital Norwich don't miss the opportunity to really close the gap. The stakes are high because a win for Norwich will put them only one point behind the Pilgrims. However, the flip side of that is, if Norwich loses the game, then Plymouth will go seven points clear of their relegation rivals.

Without using the phrase 'must win' it's clear victory on Saturday will do Norwich's survival chances no end of good. The last game against Cardiff really demonstrated what the likes of Gow, Mooney and McDonald bring to the party. Pace and movement come to mind, as well as the ability to finish.

Due to the commanding result against Cardiff, Bryan Gunn will be tempted to name an unchanged side. The majority of the play on Tuesday night came from the left hand side and the result of that is Lee Croft didn't have his best of games. That said there is not a natural replacement. The only real choice would be to play Alan Gow out there. Although at a pinch Gunn could play Carney or Hoolahan there.

My team:

Marshall

Bertrand Shackell Doherty (C) Otsemobor

Hoolahan Clingan Rusty Croft

Mooney Gow

Subs:

Nelson (GK)

McDonald

Carney

Lappin

Leijer
