Norwich Lose in Five Goal Thriller

Saturday's game was good for neutrals, but another fruitless game for Norwich City. Like many games this season Norwich looked in control at times, but ultimately let the game slip away. It's a shame, because the game started so brightly for Norwich in the first half they dominated. In fact, on another day Norwich could have had the game won at half-time.

For all Norwich's dominance, they didn't create a huge number of openings, but the breakthrough did come before half-time. On 43 minutes Wes Hoolahan was presented with a tap in, but as he went to slot the ball home he was shamelessly pulled back. Of course a penalty was awarded, but for some shocking reason the Sheffield Wednesday player did not see red. That aside, Norwich scored the penalty and led at half-time.

They were in a position of strength and shouldn't have let it slip, but they weren't ready for the Sheffield Wednesday onslaught. Within a matter of a few second-half minutes the scoreline read Sheffield Wednesday 2 Norwich city 1. The equalising goal, in particular was disappointing as it was poor marking. To Norwich's credit, they came fighting back and equalised with lita's sixth goal of the season. Ultimately, though it was another individual error that handed Sheffield Wednesday the win.

The result did have some controversy attached though because one of the Sheffield Wednesday scorers should have been sent off. Which brings me on to a second point that would the game been different if Sheffield Wednesday had 10 men for the entire second half? Whatever the situation Norwich still should have won the game and must learn to kill teams off.
