Norwich V Sheff UTD: Preview

James Kent
Norwich city go into this home game fresh from losing 1-0 to QPR. Last time out it was a frustrating day for City as they failed to break down 10 men. The game also was the worst performance of the season. Roeder will be expecting a big response by his players and he may opt to make changes. After the game it was revealed that John Kennedy will be sidelined for three weeks and will now join Gary Doherty, Sammy Clinghan and David Bell on the sidelines due to injury. This means that Glenn Roeder's options remain quite limited.

The injury to Kennedy presents another problem and that is the issue of loan players. The current rules stipulated by the Football Association state that only five loan players can be included in a match squad. As has been well documented the loans of John Kennedy and Arturo Lupoli don't count towards this figure because they are foreign deals and are in effect short term transfers rather than loans. With Kennedy crooked Roeder can only name six loans including Arturo Lupoli and if Roeder didn't include Lupoli then that number becomes five.

Roeder will be forced into that one change and Jonathan Grounds should come in for Kennedy. Lee Croft is also pushing on the door. Knowing Roeder he is likely to give the players a chance to make amends, but he might just throw in a surprise or two. Personally I would be keen to see Croft coming in and with Hoolahan on the left we should have good balance in the team.

My Team

Marshall

Bertrand Stefanovic Grounds Ostsembor

Hoolahan Fozzy(C) Russell Croft

Lupoli

Sibierski

Subs:

Nelson

Omozusi

Pattinson

Cureton

Koroma

Obviously Roeder has other options as well, but I would be surprised in anyone mentioned above was not involved. There is a possibility that Roeder might start Cureton, but it's unlikely. This team is strong and will be attacking and dangerous. One rumour that can finally be put to bed is that of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink because he has now announced his retirement.

My prediction for this game is a confident display which will result in an easy win.
