Without emails notifying you that an item has sold, it can be difficult to keep track of your inventory and when items need to be shipped. Whether you are receiving some eBay notifications or none at all, the following steps should be able to restore your email notifications and make selling on eBay enjoyable once again.

Not Receiving eBay Email Notifications: Check Your eBay Preferences

Before you waste your time on hold waiting to speak with an eBay representative, navigate to your "Notification Preferences" to ensure that your settings are correct. Click "Show" on each subset (Buyer, Seller, etc) and ensure that under the "Send me an email" box, you have selected "Real-time" in any box that isn't grayed out. If you didn't previously have this option selected, this should fix the eBay email notification problem. If not, read on.

Another likely option as to why you are not getting email notifications is that your eBay emails are getting flagged as spam. Keep in mind that even if you are receiving some notifications in your email, others may still be marked as spam. Check your spam folder. If you have your email setting set to automatically delete spam, your folder will be empty, which means that you will need to disable that feature and wait until someone sends you an eBay email to verify whether the spam folder is the source of the problem. Yahoo users can do this by selecting "Options" at the top right of the email screen. Select "More Options" from the drop-down menu. Click on the "Spam" button located along the left side of the screen. Under "Empty Spam folder:" change the setting from "immediately" to "once a week." Then ask a follow eBay user to send you a message. If it arrives in your spam box, mark the message as "Not Spam." This should restore all setting and ensure that you will receive eBay email notifications.
