Debating which is better

Debating which is better
No difference seen
Why just two parties?
We could have more, but alas
Both parties collude
I chose neither one
Yet, they were chosen for me
By the media
Two wealthy elites
Claim they represent my needs
But I know better

Post a CommentI agree Big Business (or big money) and Big Media definitely can throw a shadow on our democracy.
P.B. Chase, I agree, and that's why this year, just like every year since I could vote, I will be voting third party, or possibly not voting for president at all, since I'm not really too enamored with even the third party choices this year. If I can write someone in, I have someone in mind I will cast my vote for, but I don't think write-ins are allowed in Colorado.
The point of my writing is cynical, this is true, and it is written from the point of view of someone fed up with a political system controlled by Big Business, Big Media, and the so-called "two-party" system.
I like the rhythm of your writing, although I find it a little cynical. There is always room for improvement though and your voice is important. I think there are more than two party options, Ralph Nader was on the ballot as Independent and on the Green party ticket. In America we do have the right to have choices, if you don't like what you see, you do have the option to create change. Again, I like your writing and good luck.
Oh, man, you have SOOOO nailed it with these verses! The 2-party system is a transparent farce! Good job!
