Not the Same Shania

Let me start by saying that I love Shania Twain. I think she is a great artist and I respect her as an individual. But.......what was she thinking making this Up! CD. It is awful. I couldn't believe what I was listening to.

I bought this CD during Christmas and I couldn't wait to play it. I quickly ripped the wrapper off and put it in my CD player. At first I thought I had the wrong CD in. Who was this? After double checking I realized I didn't make a mistake and it was the right CD. What a let down.

This CD did not sound anything like Shania's old songs. I am a huge fan of Come On Over. I think that CD rocks! So why did she change her style? What is that old saying...if it ain't broke don't fix it? Why in the world would she do this! Her old style was pure country. This new style was not country at all. She offers 2 CD's to choose from. One is supposed to be country but if you ask me it's not at all.

I could go through every song and tell you my opinion but it is going to be the same on every song except one. They all stink. They are either strange, boring, or slow. The only that is half way decent was Forever and For Always. When You Kiss Me isn't too bad but slow.

The car one I don't get at all. The Ka - Ching one had an upbeat but again weird. All in all you will be very disappointed with this Shania CD. I am so sad. Why did she change? I don't know. I am hoping that in the future she will go back to her old style of singing and writing music. She is so talented it is such a shame. I did not enjoy this CD at all. To me her old style was something that you could relate to. For example, in Come on Over she sings about going out with the girls for a night out on the town. Wearing mens shirts and short skirts, country. In this new one she sings about how everyday people spend too much money by going shopping. Yes that is true but not something I want to sing too.

Her old style was upbeat and light. This isn't upbeat at all. If anything this new CD is depressing. So like I stated earlier I am not a fan of Up!.
