Not Tonight Deer Repellent: Product Review

If Hungry Deer Are Devouring Your Garden, Fight Back with This All Natural Animal Repellent

Julia Williams
Rural gardeners know all too well the horror of discovering that their garden became an "all you can eat buffet" for the local deer population. It's maddening to find your plants munched to the point of oblivion. It's disheartening to see all your hard work undone in a single night. And it makes you want to stand guard over your beloved garden with a shotgun.

Thankfully, there is an easier and more effective way to keep ravenous deer from obliterating your garden. Not Tonight Deer Repellent is an all natural, non-toxic and environmentally safe animal repellent that really works.

Not Tonight Deer Repellent was invented by Arlene Lind, a gardener who got fed up with deer using her garden as a cafeteria. She did extensive research and experimentation until she found just the right formula for an effective animal repellent that would keep the deer away from her prized plants, yet still be natural and non-toxic.

Like most animals, deer use scent and taste to decide what to eat. It stands to reason then, that if you can make your garden plants smell and taste rotten enough, the deer will forage elsewhere. That's precisely the idea behind Not Tonight Deer Repellent, and it succeeds wonderfully. I've used Not Tonight Deer Repellent on my roses, in my flower beds and on my vegetables, and the deer cafeteria is closed for good!

Not Tonight Deer Repellent is quite stinky when you apply it because it's made from powdered eggs and white pepper to create the foul smell and taste that deer can't stand. However, the smell dissipates quickly, and the stuff washes off easily so it's a food-safe pest repellent (and you won't taste it on your veggies once you wash them).

Not Tonight Deer Repellent is also one of the most economical pest repellents available to home gardeners. One 6 oz. bag makes 5 gallons that will cover 5,000 square feet of garden, for around $12.99. You just mix the powder with water, shake it well, and sprinkle it on your plants. It's also a good idea to add 1 tsp. of vegetable oil per quart of spray, which helps the concoction stick to the foliage.

Because it is rather thick, I've found that the best way to apply this deer repellent is to use a plastic liter soda bottle instead of spray bottles or watering cans, which can clog easily. I take a medium sized nail and punch six to eight holes around the top of the bottle, then another one through the cap. I turn the bottle upside down over my plants and shake the deer repellent onto them.

Deer are creatures of habit, and regular use of this natural pest repellent will discourage them from stopping by your garden for a free lunch. It worked so well for me, that my crazy neighbor accused me to sabotaging her garden. Since my garden was untouched by the deer and hers was destroyed, she was convinced that I'd gone out in the middle of the night and wrecked her garden. As I said, she was crazy.

Arlene Lind's popular line of all natural pest repellents also includes a mole repellent (Mole-otov Cocktail), a rabbit, raccoon and squirrel repellent (Hare-Less Hot Pepper Animal Repellent) and an armadillo repellent (Armadillo Armageddon). I don't have issues with these critters so I haven't tried these pest repellents, but I like her sense of humor in naming her products, and I can definitely recommend Not Tonight Deer Repellent.

Nope, your button works just fine, lol. I've never heard of this product. We have deer who like to roam in the yard at night. I believe we may have to give this product a try. I haven't seen it around my part of the country yet.
