Note to Jaime Pressly, Val Kilmer, Nicolas Cage and Marc Anthony, Uncle Sam Wants You!

Jaime Pressly, Val Kilmer, Nicolas Cage and Marc Anthony may be bright stars in the celebrity world, but when it comes to Uncle Sam, these stars aren't so bright. The celebrities just mentioned owe the government money and in some cases, at both the state and federal levels.

Just recently Jaime Pressly of My Name is Earl fame was reported to have come into debt of some $637,000 to the Federal government and the State of California.

RadarOnline said that The Detroit News uncovered public records stating that Pressly is in serious trouble with the government.

On December 6, the IRS filed a $260,370 tax lien against Pressly in addition to filing a lien months earlier (September 8) for $281,699 for 2008 income taxes. Prior to the September 8 filing, the State of California filed a lien for $95,080 on June 21.

But Jaime isn't the only one dodging Uncle Sam. Take a look at the following stars:

Val Kilmer

Val Kilmer owes some serious cash to the government.

Kilmer just made news as he owes almost $500,000 in federal taxes. On November 30, the IRS filed a $498,165 lien against Kilmer's property in Sante Fe. Kilmer has lived there for nearly 20 years and first put his ranch on the market in 2009 for around $33 million.

However, since the recession is not prejudice, Kilmer has now lowered his price to $18.5 million perhaps to help pay back his 2008 income tax assessment.

Val Kilmer was originally a stage actor and then made a break in the 1980's in several films including Top Secret and Real Genius. He's better known for his roles later in Top Gun and Willow.

Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage has long been in trouble with owing back taxes. The troubled actor is in debt of some $14 million in unpaid taxes for 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007.

However, Cage, who recently starred in Kick Ass, has made at least one payment to the IRS for around $360,000 for back taxes due from 2002 to 2004.

In 2009 Cage had filed a lawsuit against his Samuel Levin who was his former business manager for $20 million for "leading him down the path of financial ruin". Later, however, Cage dropped the suit as did Levin for his counterclaim against Cage for unpaid fees and for the actor not following his advice. (Click here for more on that story.)

Marc Anthony

Finally there's singing sensation Marc Anthony who not only owns 5 Grammys for his incredible talent, but also owes the government their due.

Just as recently as December, 2010, the State of New York demanded $1.8 million in back taxes according to RadarOnline.com.
In fact, from January through March of 2010, Anthony received two bills for unpaid taxes on his estate in Long Island. The first collection notice asked for $1.8; the second, $1.6 million.

However, it should be noted that RadarOnline which reported the story clarified that they do not know if Anthony settled up with the government as the star and his rep would not respond to the inquiries.

This wasn't Marc Anthony's first time to the rodeo, however. In 2007 Marc received a notice of owing $2.5 million in back taxes, which had added up over the course of four years.
