Looking through the large glass picture window you get a glimpse of the deep wood tables and rich Italian food that awaits you. Nonni's does have a bar; however, it is minimal and the seating accommodates only half a dozen customers at best. Additionally, it is the location where people gather to receive their pick up orders. Therefore the best seating is not at the bar, but rather towards the front of the restaurant. The tables are more spacious and the hustle of take-out orders will not interrupt your meal. In addition you can get a night time view of Hillsboro's small downtown four corner crossing. Towards the back of the restaurant is where the homemade wood fired pizzas are made and cooked. Nonni's atmosphere is warm enough to feel inviting and yet formal enough to feel as though an exceptional meal awaits you.
Nonni's has fantastic brick oven pizzas. My personal favorite is a Nonni's original. It is the Cheese and Herb wood fired brick oven pizza. It is an all white pizza topped with honey roasted garlic sauce and four different cheeses. The aroma from this pizza is amazing. It is a refreshing and welcoming break from the standard run of the mill, classic pizza! Every time I have visited Nonni's the food has been consistently high quality, hot and fresh.
Nonni's Restaurant offer more than just great pizza. They have several different pasta dishes such as; Fettuccini Alfredo, Penne Vodka ala Rossa, Penne Basilica, and Linguine with Mussels and Clams. Their Pastas range in cost from $8.95 (portion size) to $26.95 (family style). Additionally, Nonni's has dishes such as Chicken Marsala, Eggplant Parmesan, and Steak Pizza Lola "Sirloin of Beef". They also have a selection of appetizers such as Garlic Knots, Bruschetta Rustica, and Prescuitto de Parma. I do believe that their menu may seasonally change; therefore, checking their current menu through their website www.nonnisitalianeatery.com would be a great idea before embarking on a date night with your special someone.
If you are planning a romantic dinner at home, there is no need to despair! Nonni's does take out. It appears as though most, if not all of the menu can be ordered from. They offer a call in and pick up service. I have generally had to wait forty-five minutes to an hour to have my food ready, so you will want to call an hour in advance. In all fairness each time I have ordered it has been on the weekend and in prime dining hours. Just plan ahead and you will be all set.
When leaving Nonni's Italian Eatery, you will find another fantastic treat - its neighbor. Yes, in the same building, only a door away from Nonni's Italian Eatery is of all things - a chocolate shop! What better way to end an amazing date night?! Nothing could be better then a fresh Italian meal - followed by a homemade chocolate treat. You can actually see the chocolate poured and the glass display cases boast a wonderful variety of chocolates. The shelves are lined with everything from truffles to white chocolate to caramel chews. With the addition of a fun little chocolate shop that can finish your romantic dinner off with a sweet treat; this may be one small town restaurant you can't afford to miss out on!
