Nothing More

Kay K.B.
I know you can't hear my cries,
They've fallen on deaf ears;
Long ago you closed your eyes
And wisely choked off your fears

You don't mean anything to me,
Just as I mean nothing more to you.
One day soon you will see
That you're in deep denial too

If you suddenly showed an interest,
I'm sure we could work something out.
But you have nothing in which to invest,
So I'd advise you to take a different route

I'm crumbling dust between your fingers,
A sour taste on your tongue and lips;
The remains of a spirit that lingers,
Waiting for just one more poisonous kiss

If it's love you seek, turn away,
I have nothing to offer you.
Close your eyes and live to die another day,
For there is nothing more I can do
