Notre Dame Players Arrested

Jacob Horn
11 Notre Dame football players were arrested for underage drinking. This is laughable. Do not get me wrong, I am all about enforcing this rule but I would bet that 50% (maybe higher) of all athletes (under age 21) on college football teams take part in underage drinking. If all the players who did this were caught, we could probably kiss college football good bye. Well, we would probably be watching 7 on 7 featuring below average athletes.

I do not want to be misunderstood regarding this so let me reiterate my feelings. Underage drinking is against the law. Anybody who does it should face the full force of the law regarding their actions. With that being said, college coaches should do everything in their power to discourage underage drinking but in the year 2010 a coach can never be held fully responsible for his players who drink unless he personally gives them alcohol or puts them in a position where it is available.

Final note: Not that I have to say this but please let me know what you disagree with regarding my statements.
