Novartis Medical Nutrition produces clinical nutritional supplements to maintain and improve the health and well being of millions of patients and consumers in a medical facilities (such as hospitals or nursing homes) or at home.
They have created basic standard nutrition to highly specialized disease-specific products to treat Diabetes, Oncology, Digestive Health, Obesity, Surgical and Critical Care, Malnutrition, Dysphagia, Wound Care, and Pediatric Nutrition.
Besides Boost, you might have heard of their other brands, Compat, Impact, Isosource, Fibersource, Resource, Compleat, Thickenup, Benefiber, Beneprotein, Peptinex, and Diabetisource. Many products can be taken orally by mouth or tube fed through the stomach or nasal tube.
Depending on the product, the different Novartis brands offer different flavors. For example, Boost is available in Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry, and their Pre-thickened Dysphagia products come in Apple, Orange and Cranberry.

Over the years Novartis Medical Nutrition has acquired Sandoz and Mead Johnson. Just recently Nestle bought out Novartis Medical Nutrition to increase Nestle's market share to complete with market giant Ross Products, makers of Ensure.
Novartis Medical Nutrition is a subsidiary of Novartis International AG that was founded in 1996. Novartis International AG is a primarily a pharmaceutical company. You may also know their other consumer brand, Gerber, the makers of infant and baby food.
