Novel Outsourcing Phenomenon OMRA

T. Ramaswamy
Two smart employees of an IT company compare their lives; both official and domestic One of them broached the topic of outsourcing jobs awarded to the company. The conversation follows:

A: My Company is highly professional. The management is cost conscious. They implement at every stage the make or buy decision after careful analysis. They believe in outsourcing to the core. Every business process is subject to scrutiny and implementation from the point of outsourcing.

B: My Company also is at high level of professionalism. What they apply to the management they advocate to the employees also in a strictly professional manner.

A: But I heard employees have serious complaints and grievances. They say they have to be on frequent tours abroad away from their families. Newly married couples - both employed face a special problem. The spouses are posted in different places far apart. They are unable to meet and discharge family responsibilities including expanding the family size.

B: But our company has overcome this problem. The management has advised them not to worry on this count. They provide for a fabulous allowance (OMRA) which makes them happy. In fact the employee couples now prefer to remain away from home ,apart, and on long tours thanks to the OMRA
A: What is OMRA?

B: That is simple. It means Outsourcing Marital Relationships Allowance. It is given as a package to meet the cost of travel and accommodation of the outsourcing kits used.

A: That is very good. Your company definitely is a leader in the field. I would like to get details of the OMRA scheme for placing it before our Board of Directors.
