Novels "Blushing Pink," "Flesh and Blood," and "The Truth About Cowboys" Would Make Awesome Movies

Top 3 Books Sure to Be Box Office Hits

I love curling up and getting lost in a good book. Some books, however, are so well written that they absorb you into the story and make you feel it. And those books, are the ones I would love to see in film. I would love to see the characters brought to life for everyone to see. There are many books that fit into this category, but only three have a plot so original and unexpected that they are first on my list to hit the big screen.

Blushing Pink, by Jill Winters, is a great romantic comedy that every girl can relate to. Reese Brock is a Grad student, slaving away on her professor's next book, not getting anywhere in her own life, and trying to winter break to attend (and be bridesmaid for) her younger sister's wedding. As if Darcy, the tyrannical teenage boss at the coffee shop/book store she works at and Kenneth, a fellow grad student she might be dating who won't even kiss her, Reese has suddenly single Brian Doren walk back into her life -a guy she kissed New Years Eve two years ago and never saw again. Toss in a meddling mother who reminds Reese often that she is single and is a trained French chef and a father who quotes Poor Richard's Almanac and let the craziness begin. The plot is full of little twists and is all around fun.

Flesh and Blood, by Jonathan Kellerman, is a suspense thriller in the Alex Delaware series of books. Honestly, any of Kellemans books would make great movies, but this one is one of my favorites. Alex Delaware is a psychological consultant for the LAPD. His friend, Milo Sturgis is an openly gay detective and the most non-stereotypical gay character ever. Lauren Teague, a patient from Dr . Delaware's past contacts him and then ends up missing. Her mother, Jane Abbot, is convinced something has happened to her. Set in Los Angelas, this thriller has all the makings of a Hollywood who-dunnit intertwined in the sex industry and so many twists it will give you whiplash. Kellerman's talent for characters and keeping you guessing make this book box office hit material. Far from a typical crime novel, this one delves into the mind of the criminal.

The Truth About Cowboys, by Margot Early, is one book I can read over and over again. Erin MacKenzie is tired of being left behind by cowboys. She was stood up by rodeo bull fighter Abe Cockburn, the father of her baby, not to mention her father, rancher Kip Kay. Erin sets off to Colorado to introduce Abe to his daughter and Kip Kay to his. She then finds out about Chaley, her half sister she never knew existed. This story is a modern day western that reaches down deep and makes your heart ache and then makes you smile through your tears. You find yourself rooting for Erin to find her happiness.
