Updated Events for November/Thanksgiving in the Northwest

Storm
The Month of November, 2009 is kicking off a great holiday season in the northwest. Seattle has many tourist spots that no visitor should miss and the holiday season here is really great. We have Pike Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum, and even the spooky Underground City. These spots are open all year but the following are only offered in November.

The fist event in November is the Seattle International Car Show. It will be held November 11th through the 15th at Qwest Field. The hours are as follows:

Wednesday - Friday 12PM to 10PM.

Saturday - 10AM - 10PM

Sunday - 10AM - 7PM

Admission is 11$ for adults and kids under 12 are free. Every possible model on the current market will be available for you to view and who know, maybe you can even take on for a spin.

If you are tired of cooking and your family wants to give you a break, Argosy cruises has a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner cruise. You can order a traditional Thanksgiving 4-course dinner or you can go wild and order of f the menu. The rates are; $69 for adults, Kids 5 - 12 are $39, and children 4 years and under are free.

The cruise rate includes; 3 hour cruise around Elliott Bay, 4 course dinner, Beverages (non-alcohol), and live music. Also for no extra charge there will be craft area set up for the children to amuse themselves. This activity for the kids does not offer supervision, so parents take note of this. There is also the famous Jazz cruise for Christmas.

The next Thanksgiving event offered in the northwest starts the holiday season and that is the Macy's Thanksgiving parade on Friday November 27th.. The parade starts at 8:45 at 7th & Pike, then west to 5th, on 5th go south to University Street, travel to 4th and go north to Macy's. This year there will over 20 balloon floats and many High School bands and costumed characters

Santa will be arrive at Macy's at approximately 5PM. At this time there will be a lighting of the tree and if the weather is good there will be fireworks. .Santa will be available for pictures November 27th through December 24th in the downtown Seattle Macy's. Check your local Macy's for their hours and availability for visits to Santa. .

The usual Black Friday sales are going to be in full swing but this year with the current economy instability you may be able to find more deals. One thing to remember though, retailers are not stocking up on anything. Buy early in the season to avoid disappointment later by being unable to pick up those special items that were on gift lists.

It is important to note here that there are not as many events offered this year and this may be also do to the present economic crisis. If you are of a community mind then one thing you can do is research how to adopt a soldier for the holidays and send a gift basket. There are many men fighting for our country that are without family or friends to send them small comforts from home. Contact your local USO or inquire at your local military base's community outreach program.
