November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month

David Lindberg
President Ronald Reagan designated a week in November as National Alzheimer's Disease Week in 1982. It has evolved to a month long effort to raise the public and political awareness of the national crisis that this deadly disease is. The Alzheimer's Association was formed in 1980 by Jerome Stone, who led a group of caregivers to Washington D.C. to make this disease a national priority and has been continuing to grow it's efforts for government support and resources for research and treatments.
