Diabetes symptoms are sometimes overlooked even when someone is aware of the symptoms. Diabetes is something many are very familiar with, as most have friends or family with diabetes. With November being American Diabetes Month, this may be a good time to review the symptoms.

Some of the symptoms of diabetes that can be overlooked may also be symptoms of other illnesses. Early symptoms of diabetes may include feeling fatigued more than usual, losing weight without reason or gaining weight without reason. These are symptoms many will attribute to lifestyle without examining the issues.

Other symptoms such as extreme thirst and frequent urination are early signs of diabetes. If a person has blurry vision or has an upset stomach often, skin rashes or sores that take long to heal, these may be symptoms of diabetes.

According to Webmd.com, men and women with diabetes may suffer from yeast infections. Also, women may find they have frequent vaginal infections. Some find they are irritable for no reason, or that they experience rapid heartbeat, sweating or unexpected drowsiness.

During American Diabetes Month several organizations are striving to inform everyone about the symptoms of diabetes. The symptoms experienced by those with diabetes are many, and no symptom should go unmentioned during a visit to a physician.
