November in Texas

Three Haikus

Louisa Burgess
Eighty-two degrees

no falling leaves yet really

it is November

Sunny days still here

a little rain without chill

is it November?

Winter clothes are out

thoughts that Christmas is coming

it is November

The temperture drops

to sixty-eight I'm laughing

is this November?

Great haikus! I remember the first winter we lived in California. We lived in San Diego then and spent Christmas Day at the beach, then went home and watched people back East shoveling their cars out from under the snow on the six o'clock news. It was very surreal.

Up here in Oklahoma, I HEAR YA! Today it was 70. Now that's not crazy hot but like you said "its November!" I miss cold.

Too warm in November? I was there once in May with summer clothes, and had to go buy sweaters! Oh well.
