Now She Tells Us: Napolitano Says H1N1 No Worse Than Other Flu

Marc Rubin
After more than a week of helping fuel the hysteria and over reaction of the media and the White House involving swine flu Janet Napolitano now says as reported by CNN that H1N1 is no worse than the regular flu.

While I have written two articles in the past week while the hysteria was at its height, essentially pointing out that the statistics indicated this was nothing to be concerned about, news outlets like CNN as well as statements coming from the Obama Administration acted like this was potentially a serious outbreak of a dangerous disease. What its turned out to be was an outbreak in media hype.

All the statistics from the beginning indicated that there was not as yet any reason for concern. Yet Obama, the news media and members of his administration, using words like "combat" and "war against:" and CNN's ridiculous "Inside the H1N1 War Room" segment did nothing to allay fears.

The total number of cases that have been reported in the U.S. is 279. Almost from the beginning the Obama Administration treated it as a crisis even though there was no evidence to support it. The news media never being one to miss an opportunity to sound an alarm to get more viewers dutiifully went along as I reported yesterday, in spite of the fact that there were no statistics and no scientific or medical knowledge to support the idea of anything remotely dangerous, serious or of a crisis concern. Maybe they should rename this the Cry Wolf Flu.
