Tons of us
So many of us
Seem to live these kinds of lives
It is a wonder to behold
What is needed
What is forgotten
What is never there
Not knowing what you need
Or what you want
It is a combination of things
I must imagine
That cannot be matched
That no man can conjure
Too much of something
Less of that
More of this
Another sleepless night
In which my dreams
Will ache about the mundane
And the unfantastic
The melancholy and the absurd
No longer giving, no longer knowing
No longer wanting
Dreaming sometimes of peace
Purging this doubt and concern
For things that must be unimportant
Maybe knowing once again
What it is like to be lost in your dreams
In you love
And in your heart.
