Nursery Rhyme for Adults Who Feel Trapped

The Tiny Little Turtle with the Tick Tock Phone

Once upon a time in a time warp zone
sat a tiny little turtle with a tick tock phone.
The tick tock phone was ringing when a bird flew by.
She landed on the turtle with a heavy sigh.

"For me," the birdie told him as she winked her eye.
"It's hard to talk to agents when you're in the sky."
She grabbed the phone from Turtle as she flapped her wings.
"I'm sorry," she said to it, "but no turtle sings."

The turtle began singing, much to her surprise,
a song that was so beautiful it hurt her eyes.
"Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!" she cried angrily.
"I'm the one he wants," she said so righteously.

The turtle began dancing with his tick tock phone,
"Surely you have other skills that you can hone."
The bird sneered at the turtle as she answered him.
"Sure I do," she told him; "I can run and swim!"

"Then don't tell me that I can't do what I can do,"
the turtle told the birdie as he tapped his shoe.
'Cause if I really wanted to, I'd fly, fly, fly.
The turtle and his tick tock phone then waved good-by.

The birdie thought she knew the turtle very well.
I'll show him, she thought, as she climbed in his shell.
The turtle and his tick tock phone have formed a band
flying over Birdie who crawls on the sand.
