Valentine Cards
Making Valentine's Day cards is easy and fun for nursing home residents, and they can give them to family, friends, and members of their nursing home. This project is a great way to celebrate Valentine's Day without spending a lot of money. For this craft project you will need construction paper, scissors, glue, glitter, paper doilies, markers, and magazines.
Start this nursing home craft project by providing everyone with supplies. Help the elderly people fold the paper in half, and look through the magazine for fun images. They can cut hearts out of other paper and glue the doilies to the cards to look like lace. Adding glitter is always fun, and the markers can be used to write a nice Valentine's Day message on the card. This craft project is a fun way to get nursing home residents involved in Valentine's Day, and nursing home residents will love giving out their homemade cards.
Heart Picture Holder
Another great project for nursing homes is a heart picture holder. This project is fun and easy, and elderly people will enjoy this homemade way of presenting their pictures. For this project you will need a small terracotta flowerpot, a piece of foam big enough to fit securely in the pot, some fake grass, glue, floral tape, a piece of wire, scissors, a paper clip, and red foam or cardstock.
Start this Valentine's Day nursing home craft project by putting the foam block into the pot. Next cut the wire so it is about 6 inches long, and cut a heart shape from the foam or paper. Tape the bottom of the paper clip to the heart and tape the wire to the back of the heart as well. Next wrap the wire with the floral tape to make it look like a flower stem, and push the wire into the foam. Glue some fake grass to the foam to hide the foam, and allow it to dry. When the project is completely dry stick your photo in the paperclip and place somewhere you can see it. You can also add extra heart flowers if you would like it to hold several photos.Nursing home craft projects can be a lot of fun for nursing home residents, and Valentine's Day provides you with a wonderful opportunity for nursing home craft projects. Try these craft projects at your nursing home this Valentine's Day.
