Nutrients We All Need, and May Need More Of

Yes, there are just some nutrients our bodies need to work properly. If they do not have these nutrients we may feel sluggish, our bodies may begin to break down and our bodies may not function properly.

Here are five of these important nutrients that all of us need and many of us aren't getting enough of daily. Yet, we all know that they are important to our overall health. They include:

Calcium

Yes, you know you need calcium for your bone health. You also may know that you need this nutrient to keep your teeth strong. You probably even know that it is found in such foods as: milk, yogurt, green leafy vegetables, and canned salmon.

But are you getting your 1,000 mg daily or 1,200 mg daily if you are a woman over 50?

Vitmain C

Yes, you know you need vitamin C to help keep your immune system strong. You may even know that it will help build collagen in your skin and that it has some anti-inflammatory properties. You certainly know that it can be found in fruits and vegetables, especially citrus fruits and vegetables such as broccoli and brussels sprouts.

But are you getting your 75 mg of Vitamin C daily?

Fiber

Yes, you know that fiber is good for a healthy digestion. You also know that it will help keep you full and thus will help you lose weight and help stabilize your blood sugar. You may also know that it can be found in such foods as who grains, nuts, seeds and in fruits and vegetables.

But are you getting your 25 grams of fiber a day?

Potassium

Yes, you probably know that potassium is good for brain function and that it can help fight headaches. It can also help heart function. You also probably know that it can be found in most fruits and vegetables, especially in bananas.

But are you getting your 4,700 mg of potassium daily?

Magnesium

Yes, you probably know that magnesium can help nerve, muscle and bone function. You also probably know that it can be found in nuts, seeds and green vegetables.

But are you getting your 310 to 320 mg of magnesium daily?

If you are getting your required daily amount of these important nutrients, don't you think that it is time that you begin increasing their amounts?
