NutriSystem Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert Bar is A-OK

Candice Cain
You know those silly emails that you get, where you have to fill out your favorites? Well, for "Favorite Meal" I always enter "Dessert". Maybe dessert isn't a meal, but it is definitely the time that I enjoy the most. I love desserts when I go out to eat... Tiramisu at Italian restaurants, sundaes at Friendly's, brownie concoctions at Chili's, fried ice cream (helado frito) at Mexican restaurants. Oh, the list goes on and on...

When I found that I had the option of dessert, I was thrilled. The items on the NutriSystem sound really good. Now, I am a Reese's addict. I love Reese's Stix, Nutrageous, and expecially Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. My favorite sundae from Friendly's is the Reese's Pieces Junior Sundae. Chocolate and peanut butter are a simply divine combination. So, when I saw the Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert Bar listed on the items I could choose as a dessert, I was thrilled. I ordered two of them, as a matter of fact.

Of course, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert Bar is the first dessert that I tried on my first day of NutriSystem. To be honest, the meal bar that I had that day (the Fudge Graham Bar), was better. This bar is actually a bunch of peanut butter coated soy crisps on top of a thick piece of chocolate. I thought it was going to be peanut butter encased in chocolate-- Wishful thinking, I suppose.

Since I didn't have my dairy serving at snack time, I was able to have it with my dessert. I am a big cookies-and-milk kind of gal. I can't just drink water when I'm eating dessert. I just need to wash sweets down with a glass of skim milk.

The NutriSystem Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert Bar was actually pretty good. It was crispy and chewy at the same time, and had good flavor. Of course, it wasn't as decadent as I would have liked it to be, but it wouldn't be a diet if it were. This is a good item for someone like me, and especially for those that like eating candybars. It's sweet and tasty, and really good with a glass of milk. Plus, it's a decent size-- not some scrawny scrap of "dessert" that people like me would roll their eyes at.

I would definitely order the NutriSystem Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert Bar again. I still have a standing order of 2 for my next shipment. There may be something else that I go gaga over, and might end up replacing one of these with. However, I am certain that I will keep at least on in my next order.
