NXT Season V: Redemption

Spy Radio
NXT Season V is being called NXT Redemption. The WWE Universe was informed that this season would be unlike any other. Which turned out to be a true statement. NXT Redemption has changed a the following things.

1. They have brought in William Regal to replace Josh Matthews and join Todd Grisham as one of the commentators.

2. They have brought in Maryse to host the show with Matt Striker.

3. NXT rookies can no longer receive immunity. Instead the rookies compete to earn redemption points. Redemption points come into play when the fan vote and Pros' poll result in a tie for last place. The rookie with the most redemption points will avoid elimination and stay in the competition.

6. The winner of NXT Redemption does not earn a spot on the WWE roster or a WWE Championship match. Instead they will be allowed to compete on NXT Season 6.

5. The biggest change for this season is that all superstars have competed on NXT once before. Now they have the chance to redeem themselves by clamming victory a second time around. Let's take a look at what rookies were given another opportunity to redeem themselves.

Rookie: Bryon Saxton
Bryon's Pro: Yoshi Tatsu
Bryon competed on NXT Season 4.

Rookie: Conor O'Brian
Conor's Pro: Vladimir Kozlov
Conor competed on NXT Season 4.

Rookie: Darren Young
Darren's Pro: Chavo Guerrero
Darren competed on NXT Season 1.

Rookie: Jacob Novak
Jacob's Pro: JTG
Jacob competed on NXT Season 4.

Rookie: Lucky Cannon
Lucky's Pro: Tyson Kidd
Lucky competed on NXT Season 2.

Rookie: Titus O'Neil
Titus' Pro: Hornswoggle
Titus competed on NXT Season 2.

The concept for NXT Redemption was not well thought out. Obviously the WWE Universe does not want to see any of these rookies. They were eliminated from their season for a reason. The WWE Universe and WWE Pros saw something in them that they did not like. The only expectation to this is Darren Young because he competed on NXT Season 1. On the first season of NXT the WWE Universe was not allowed to vote, it was based solely on the Pros' Poll.

Even though Young did not win NXT Season 1, he still became a Raw superstar. Therefore, he should not be allowed to compete on NXT Redemption. The whole point of NXT Redemption is to guarantee yourself a spot on NXT Season 6. Assuming the prize for NXT Season 6 is a WWE contract and a WWE Championship match, I see no reason for allowing Young to compete. If Young wins NXT Redemption and goes on to win NXT Season 6 he will be right back where he started.

NXT should of ended after the second season. There is a reason why this show isn't on television anymore.

Not Sure about the NXT Redemption. Why is Darren Young a rookie again? He was making appearances on WWE Superstars for a while. This show is gonna suck big time.
