NY Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw Talks Being Benched

The New York Giants have decided to bench running back Ahmad Bradshaw due to his numerous fumbles. Bradshaw is trying to stay upbeat.

"I'm doing whatever is good for the team," Bradshaw stated on Wednesday.

The man that will start in his place, fellow running back Brandon Jacobs, is a close friend of Bradshaw. Bradshaw assures that there is no animosity between the two backs. "The guy next to me is a great guy, and a great back," Bradshaw said of Jacobs. "Like I said, all I can do is back him up as much and as best that I can."

Bradshaw was asked about his "fumbleitis" but he gave little explanation regarding the issue, saying "my fumbles happen on the extra effort. All I can do is play my game, and it all comes natural. All I can really do is get what I can get and go down."

Ahmad Bradshaw is currently the NFC's second leading rusher but his benching comes as little surprise to anybody that has been following the 2010 New York Giants. Head coach Tom Coughlin was visibly upset with Bradshaw after his fumble during Sunday night's Giants-Eagles game, so much so that the coach replaced Bradshaw with Jacobs mid-game. The tempo of this Sunday's game, along with Bradshaw's attitude and the overall demeanor of the coaching staff, will determine how many touches Bradshaw receives this weekend.
