NYC Mayor Bloomberg Against Investigation into Cordoba Mosque Near Ground Zero

Mayor Michael Bloomberg was asked about his position on Rick Lazio's call for an investigation into the Cordoba Initiative constructing a mega mosque near Ground Zero. The mayor claims any investigation into the mosque would be "out of character for what this nation stands for and the way we conduct ourselves."
NY 1 reports, "Bloomberg blasted Lazio's comment by saying an investigation would be un-American."
Bloomberg added, "I don't think we're going to go and start investigating funding sources for religious organizations or vetting people who preach or pray in religious organizations."
Like the Liberal NY gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo, the mayor is hiding behind the noble tenet of religious freedom to evade the political hot potato of investigating potentially dangerous operatives.
The Cordoba Institute has paid in cash nearly five-million dollars for the property in question; the funding of this project is not entirely revealed.
What we do know is that the president of the Cordoba Initiative desires Sharia law in the U.S., which will usurp the Constitution and inhibit religious freedom, free speech and women's rights; those aforementioned violations of the Constitution are mild compared to the full implications of a Sharia compliant U.S.

Additionally, the Initiative intending to construct the mosque near Ground Zero is partially funded by Malaysia, a foreign government actively & successfully pursuing Sharia law. Imam Rauf president of the Cordoba Initiative has launched the Sharia Project, which will advance its cause just steps away from Ground Zero.
This transcends religion; stopping such an insult protects freedom of religion in this country.

Michael Bloomberg is the mayor of a city where nearly 3,000 of his neighbors were killed by Muslim terrorists and he forgot quicker than those not in this city or country. Under the mayor's stewardship Ground Zero remains a vacant hole, for nearly 10-years; that runs counter to the character of this nation!
Meanwhile, steps away from the footprint of the World Trade Center towers, Islamic operatives not friendly to this nation's laws are blessed by Andrew Cuomo and their designs are fast-tracked by the mayor and City Council.
The mayor has a penchant for dishonoring 9/11 victims and continues his errant and dare it be said un-American ways.
Mayor Bloomberg's refusal to at least endorse an investigation into suspicious activity of an Initiative that calls for Sharia law and Dawa from the rubble of the World Trade Center runs counter to the character of this nation.

No such thing as lenient sharia..unless you consider the open hand slap vs the closed fist to an insolent wife..or the suppression of free speech..the lenient version I guess will be allowing the infidel to practice his non-belief only in the darkness of his own home..after paying the jiyza
Nik, we do ask for sources of funding in real estate purchases. Regardless, everything being equal..we are in the middle of an armed conflict with devout Muslim extremists that murdered nearly 3,000 of your fellow countrymen..innocents are still dying today because of that attack..and we just roll over and allow a radical Imam that is pro-enemy of the USA to raise a calling flag to those desiring to FORCE you & yours into a faith that you may not want to belong to..how un-American is that endeavor? If one doesn't believe in the enemy that exists..then I understand the support for this Cordoba Initiative.."all outward appearances" seem anything but fine..a little research reveals the nefarious designs of the Cordoba Initiative..starting with the name of the project.
I gotta disagree here. I do think it is unamerican to require this guy to reveal information about his funding, if we wouldn't ask another commercial investor to do the same and there doesn't seem to be any reasonable suspicion. While I don't know that much about this guy, all outward appearances seem fine, even with his comments after 9/11. And even if he wasn't, unless he has committed a crime, he has a right to buy up commercial property. I just don't see what the problem is here. Why would a mosque be offensive? Also, aren't there numerous versions of Sharia law, some more lenient than others?
I am amazed at Bloomberg's hypocrisy and the fact that people don't see the irony in his successful push for a third term. Has everyone forgotten that when Guilliani wanted to stay in office in the aftermath of 911, following Bloomberg's election, that Bloomberg was the one who said 911 wasn't a good enough reason to suspend term limits? I just don't get this guy.
How come this am on the ABC channel at the bottom ran this saying, ABC & ? will not be showing the protest of the building of the mosque at ground zero. Now that is real proof that the major channels do not show all the news. Just the ones they want you to see
I don't think most Americans really understand the danger of Islam. Muslims are fighting a war that if they win will incorporate Sharia law and the Koran into every fabric of the US constitution. People really think that it is a not possible to achieve but I think that sometimes they get dangerously close.
Great report - 9/11, the subway plotters, the Times Square terrorist - all share one thing in common - radical Islamic views - Mayor Mike should be able to figure that out.
