NYC Snowstorm Weather Data Points to Dawn of Another Ice Age

Joe Dorish
They have been keeping weather records in Central Park in New York City since 1869. That is 141 years of weather data. Over those 141 years New York City has seen seven blizzards that have dumped at least 19.8" of snow in Central Park. Five of those seven snowstorms have occurred in the last 14 years and 4 have occurred in the last 4 years and two of the blizzards occurred within the last year.

Based upon the weather data for snowstorms in NYC one can easily conclude we are at the dawn of a new ice age or at least a new mini ice age. Whether we are or not remains to be seen but the snowstorm data for NYC points far more to another ice age than it does to global warming.

Seven Largest Snowstorms in NYC History

1) 26.9" on February 11-12, 2006

2) 26.4" on December 26-27-1947

3) 21.0" on March 12-14, 1888

4) 20.9" on February 25-26, 2010

5) 20.2" on January 7-8, 1996

6) 20.0" on December 26-27, 2010

7) 19.8" on February 16-17, 2003

Since 1869 there have been just 35 snowstorms that dumped a foot or more of snow in Central Park. If global warming was actually occurring one would think that most of the snowstorms would have occurred in the distant past. But the data shows just the opposite.

Twenty-three or 2/3 of the snowstorms have occurred in the last 70 years. Only 1/3 of the snowstorms occurred prior to 1940.

Twenty percent (7 out of 35) of the snowstorms that dumped at least one foot of snow in Central Park have occurred in the last 10 years.

Two of the largest snowstorms ever have occurred in the last 10 Months.

Proponents of global warming will tell you that global warming causes odd weather patterns. Odd to me means a freak snowstorm or two but not 20% of all snowstorms that have ever hit NYC in the last 10 years.

Data showing that 20% of all snowstorms that dumped at least one foot of snow in NYC occurred in the last ten years is far more indicative of another ice age than global warming.

Of course drawing conclusions from a decade's worth of weather data is foolhardy for all. Weather data can fluctuate considerably over short periods of time and the earth has been around for billions of years.

140 years out of billions is pretty much diddly.

Hahahaha, we're at the dawn of an ice-age? No we aren't, nonsense. 140 years of data isn't diddly. HAARP is probably doing it.

A very interesting topic. I have also considered the possibility that we may be at the beginning stage of some sort of forthcoming Ice Age. At any rate, we are, indeed, facing what could be a cyclical change in the weather pattern.
