The Nyko XBox 360 Intercooler EX will keep your console system running cooler and that means less wear and tear on your system. The Intercooler EX snaps easily onto the back of your console and uses the power connection for its own power. This means it also turns on and off with the system for no hassles of other power buttons to remember after that intense gaming session.
The Nyko Intercooler EX is easy to install; simply snap it onto the back of your XBox 360 system and plug the power cord back in. The black good looks make the white system stylishly alternating or it blends in with the black console system.
I tested out the Intercooler using a fan controller with four temperature sensors by Scythe called the Kama Meter that makes a great, if not exactly precise, testing device. I placed four sensors on the XBox 360; 1. on top over the DVD Drive, 2. on top center toward the back, 3. on the bottom center and 4. on the hard drive.
The temperatures while the XBox was off and had been all night were the following:
XBox 360 No Power
1. 25.2 Degrees Celsius Top over drive
2. 24.7 Degrees Celsius Top center rear
3. 24.3 Degrees Celsius Bottom Center
4. 24.3 Degrees Celsius Hard Drive
After playing on the XBox for a half hour I checked the temperatures with no Intercooler on the back with these results:
XBox 360 Playing half hour
1. 28.9 Degrees Celsius Top over drive
2. 30.8 Degrees Celsius Top center rear
3. 36.8 Degrees Celsius Bottom Center
4. 26.3 Degrees Celsius Hard Drive
Of course the bottom temperature is the highest but even the hard drive had some heat, I then placed the Intercooler on and played another half hour of The Orange Box.
XBox 360 with Intercooler EX half hour of playing
1. 26.3 Degrees Celsius Top over drive
2. 26.8 Degrees Celsius Top center rear
3. 27.2 Degrees Celsius Bottom Center
4. 25.2 Degrees Celsius Hard Drive
The tests show that there was a significant drop in temperature while using the Nyko Intercooler EX on my XBox 360. I have noticed since purchasing the XBox console that it does heat up quite a bit like many people have said. The system does have an external power source but it does make me concerned about the life of the system.
Using the Nyko Intercooler will definitely keep your system cooler and that means a longer life. When electronic components are heated up unnecessarily they will wear out and burn out faster. Keeping them cooler will lengthen the life of the individual components like the transistor and capacitors inside the system.
Using the Nyko XBox 360 Intercooler EX will keep your system cooler, just like they show on their website. The Nyko XBox 360 Intercooler Ex is the easy way to keep your console system cooler for a longer life. I highly recommend the XBox Intercooler EX for your XBox 360 console system.

Post a CommentUnfortunately, this version will eventually kill your 360 due to the fact that it saps energy meant to run the system. Try the new TS version, it runs off of its own power supply.
