NYX Candy Glitter Liner: Eyeliners that Will Rock Your World

Gwendolyn Taylor
With glitter eyeliner becoming a more popular trend, finding one that is long-lasting, inexpensive, and has just the right amount of sparkle is the key. I used to be an avid fan of Urban Decay's Heavy metal glitter eyeliner, until I discovered Candy Glitter Liner by NYX. The glitter eyeliners by NXY offer similar and more varieties that the Urban Decay line, and for 80% less the price.

The collection sports these wide varieties of colors: Crystal (translucent with iridescent glitter), Silver (foil metallic with silver color), Disco Ball, silver with iridescent glitter) Hot Orange (neon orange with gold glitter), Red (fire with iridescent glitter, Tangerine (light orange with iridescent glitter), Gold (metallic with gold glitter), Hot Yellow (neon yellow with iridescent glitter), Lime (neon green with iridescent glitter), Hot Candy (pink with pink glitter), Hot Pink (neon pink with iridescent glitter), Baby Pink (light pink with iridescent glitter), Lavender (light purple with iridescent glitter, Disco Queen (black with iridescent glitter), Blue (ocean with blue glitter), Jade (turquoise with matching shade glitter), Green (true emerald with green glitter), and Hot Green (neon green with iridescent glitter).

My all-time favorites are "Crystal", "Silver", and "Disco Queen". These are the most versatile shades of the bunch and go well with any color of your wardrobe. In my opinion the pigment of these eyeliners are more condensed and more sparkly than Urban Decay's liners. One application is good enough, and the glitter scheme is varied enough that multiple shades of eyeliners in this collection do not look the same when applied.

The only downside about these is that you need to wait after each initial application prior to applying another line for a more bold effect. If the formula has dried on your skin yet, it can make your eyes water if you apply again while still wet. That is my only complaint about this product.

These eyeliners retail for about three to four dollars each and are sold at specialty beauty stores such as ULTA and mass merchandise stores. These are significantly cheaper compared to Urban Decay's product which retails for $18 a tube of the same size.
