O Middle Class Where Hath Thou Gone?

It was the worst of times ~ It was the best of times!

The economy is squeezing the American dream, as home values slide, costs rise, stocks loose ground and the dollar falls against the Euro, few see better times ahead.

Working hard, playing by the rules and the sun will shine tomorrow was the promise at the core of the American Business & Financial strategy weathering both good and bad economic times.

But now, home prices across the nation (not just one market area) have fallen to an all time low, the average price of a gallon of gas is at or over $4.00 and rising, food prices are skyrocketing due to the extreme costs of delivery, and the stock market is a very volatile place to be invested in right now with many loosing 1000's of dollars daily.

Right now, 43% of Americans believe that they are in worst shape than they were 5 years ago according a poll done by Pew Research Center based out of Washington DC.

If some of the avid readers of mine remember my article "The Falling U.S. Dollar" from back in January, you will remember that I predicted that the price of the barrel of oil would be $150.00 by July of this year. Well Friday June 10, 2008 the barrel closed at $138.54 which is only $11.46 away from the $150.00 mark that I predicted and we still have 20 more days left till July.

Mark my words now; if we do not stop the trend we are on the price of a barrel of oil will reach $200.00 by December. If that happens many of you will not be able to afford to buy your kid the Gi-Joe with the kung-fu grip and it will be a sad Christmas for all.

So don't be surprised if there is no Christmas cheer, because Santa will be locked up for 3 long years. He will be caught stealing someone's gas or propane.
