O Obey

Monique Finley

O you know you don't fool me. I know the reasons
You struggle for everyone through all the seasons.
The void you fillwith days full of hard labor.
80 hours-plus all the weeks of September.

O I know the struggle within, the denial
I wish I could say, "here sip this, it's a cure all vial."
Some concoction that makes everything all better.
But someone's mommy wrote congress a letter.

O no cure-all, but I can offer my heart and ears
Call it a loaner, just dont keep my parts and tears.
You wouldn't want them, the rass is rarely greener
Sometimes another's mosquitoes are meaner.

O no blood sucking parasites drain your life away.
Give it freely, in segments, to anyone who may sway
Life in our favor if only for a moment.
Don't forget to obey those precious commandments.
