O Organics Bite Size Chocolate Chip Cookies: My Disappointment

Valerie Hansen
When I saw the new "O Organics" line of products on display in VONS, I was a bit excited to find out that some of the items were vegan. I was especially excited to see bite size cookies. I had always heard people tell me that vegan cookies taste like dog treat cookies. However, I am a vegan and I love cookies. Believe me, I wouldn't keep eating cookies that tasted like dog food. I've had some really great vegan cookies before, so I had great expectations for the "O Organics" brand bite size chocolate chip cookies. So I bought a bag and was quickly disappointed. These cookies were exactly what I'd imagine the dog treat cookies would taste like.

Organic Ingredients

Foods can easily taste just as good if they're organic. Organic foods are simply non-GMO foods that are grown without the use of pesticides (okay, so that's a very simplified definition). Basically, the only thing organic foods are missing is the pesticides (which we don't taste and enjoy anyway). It's nice to have organic options at the store now, but all of the "O Organics" products I've tried so far have been hugely disappointing. I've had other organic vegan cookies that taste absolutely fantastic.

Value

Organic foods are often more expensive, with the benefits being debatable. A lot of the vegan cookies I buy are $3 to $5 for a bag that would have been $2 or $3 if they had dairy and eggs. And those aren't even organic. The "O Organics" foods all have fairly reasonable prices, but to me they've all tasted horrible. I would probably buy organic foods if they were at least close to the prices of conventional foods, but I'd expect them to taste just as good.

Needless to say, I was rather disappointed with the little "O Organics" bite size chocolate chip cookies. Yes, it's great that they're organic. It's great that they're a good price. Unfortunately however, taste is also a consideration. If you ask me, these cookies just don't pass the taste test.

  • These cookies meet organic standards.
  • O Organics products are generally a fairly good value.
  • When people say vegan cookies taste like dog cookies, now I know what they mean.
Organic foods are non-GMO foods grown without pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics.

You're always welcome to write your own review. I'm not going to lie in my reviews and say that I enjoy something when I do not. There are far better vegan cookies out there on the market.

I guess everyone has their opinion, but I love the O Organics chocolate chip cookies and the honey grams. It's realy crazy for you to bash something just because it's not to your taste. You could at least give a more constructive review and realize that you can't speak for millions of people.

So people try it for yourself and don't listen to what ONE person has to say.

I purchased some O Organics Black Beans awhile ago and didn't notice at the time that stamped on the top of the can is "PROD OF CHINA". I will NEVER shop at Safeway again and I don't trust any products anymore. Thanks for selling out our lovely country!!!
