First, can Oakland have a do over of the 2009 draft? It appears they announced the wrong names during their first and second round selections. If the Raiders could pick again, they would surely get it right. Actually, if they could have a couple of tries at the next few drafts until they've exhibited a knowledge of the process, that would be helpful.
Secondly, I realize the health care system in the United States, needs work, but so does the health care system for the Raiders. Apparently a veteran player, didn't know to report an injury and operation to the team. Also, their first round pick became dehydrated and missed two days of practice, because of cramping. If a health official could come in and discuss preventive health care measures, like the benefits of drinking water during physical activity, that would reduce loss work time, a great expense for many organizations.
Lastly, and this is hard, because I like Al Davis. Davis has been a prominent figure in the National Football League for some time, but I think it's time he steps aside. I hate the term, the game has passed him by, but the game well, has passed him by. He will always be the Oakland Raiders, just as George Steinbrenner will always be the New York Yankees, but maybe it's time for someone else to step in and guide the Oakland Raiders back to relevancy in the NFL.
Now, some Raiders and Al Davis fans may take offense to this plea for aid, but I only ask for this help, because it's not right for the Oakland Raiders to be this pitiful. These are the Raiders, the John Madden, Howie Long, smash you in the mouth, talk about your mother Raiders. When you suit up in the silver and black you have an image and tradition to uphold, and it's time the Raiders get to upholding.
