Oakland Raiders Vs Tennessee Titans: Las Vegas Line & Pick Against Spread

A Resurgent Raiders Team Will Take on Titans in Week One of NFL Season

Todd Jacobs
As the Tennessee Titans welcome the Oakland Raiders on September 12th they will see a Raider defense that is hard hitting and aggressive. There are many questions that will be answered in this game once it kicks off. Is the new and improved Oakland Raiders defense capable of stopping a high powered back like Chris Johnson? Can Jason Campbell resurrect his career with Oakland and start his NFL season with a win? Will the real Vince Young emerge in this game against Oakland? All these questions will play into the final result this Sunday.

Passing Attacks for Both Tennessee Titans & Oakland Raiders are Unproven

Vince Young's job last season was hand the ball to Chris Johnson and don't make mistakes while passing. This season he will be under more pressure to provide a passing attack to take pressure off of Johnson. Part of the reason for the anemic Tennessee passing attack is not Young's fault. There are no solid pass catchers in a Tennessee Titans uniform, making Young's job to provide passing cover bleak.

Across the field, Jason Campbell's receivers are not going to making any Pro Bowl trips over the next few seasons either. Chaz Schillens, the number one Oakland Raiders receiver, is out for six weeks and will be unavailable for this game. Louis Murphy will be the number one receiver for this game but the most catches may be made by Zach Miller, the Oakland Raiders steady ad reliable tight end. Neither teams passing attack has the edge in this game.

Running Game for Tennessee Titans Holds Obvious Edge Over Oakland Raiders

There isn't much to break down in the running game for both teams. Chris Johnson is going to rush the ball a minimum of 25 times in this game and should break the 100 yard mark effortlessly. If the Oakland Raiders can get to him early and slow him down they may have a chance in this game.

Darren McFadden has been a disappointment to this point in his career but now is his time shine. McFadden has shown glimpses of greatness but nothing sustained as the Oakland Raiders former number one NFL Draft pick. Michael Bush is suffering with a painful thumb injury and may not play in this game. Running game edge goes to the Tennessee Titans over the Oakland Raiders.

Oakland Raiders vs Tennessee Titans -8: Pick & Breakdown

Neither one of these teams is going much farther than 8-8 this season and according to the Las Vegas Hilton Superbook, they are both long shots to win the Super Bowl. TheOakland Raiders are 100-1 to win the Super Bowl and the Tennessee Titans are 40-1 to take home the Lombardi Trophy.

This game will come down to which team has the best defense. If Oakland can contain Chris Johnson, they have a chance to win as a big underdog. The Oakland Raiders defense is an unknown commodity heading into this game and it will be one of the key answers coming out of this game. Take the Oakland Raiders to cover the 8 points but they will not beat Tennessee straight up.

Kenny Stabler "The Snake" needs to be in the Hall of Fame. Yes loved the Raiders reputation in the old days and their two rookies (Rolando McLain & Lamaar Houston) are Old School Raiders to the bone.

The Raiders need to get nostalgic and revive the Snake and those bone crushers of yesteryear!!

Red again mr "Idiots" I picked the Raiders to cover the number--if they win straight up that is great and they can. I am taking the points. For those that want to go the extra mile Raiders are plus $280 to win straight up. Not a bad bet either. Thanks for reading.

you obviously have not done your home work. Pre season games do not count but you can basically see from the first team o and d how the season will go.
Raiders D has been destroying every temas first offense, but the bears did have one huge run for a td and so did the 9ers but seymoure was not playing both of those games when that happen and ASO was not in either. So if you wana make my money bet on oakland not only will they cover but they will win easily by 2-3 tds
